I saw a further change in the a...Okay, that worked. I saw a further change in the appearance of salesclerks (as they are called in North America) in my lifetime. When I visited relatives in New York City in 1966 (the era of Civil Rights and desegregation), I was amazed to see some ladies' wear stores entirely staffed by black women, which seemed like quite a novelty at the time, and a sign of progress.
