I feel for her surviving family members and am pleased that her sister has helped maintain Ruth's humanity and thankful that women today have proper defense in law against such abuses. I don't know...but she was determined to control events, it seems...right from shooting David Blakely to her own execution. I'm curious though about Desmond Cussen...was he even called to give evidence? Why wasn't he on trial for providing Ruth with the gun and teaching her how to use it? billierosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00288997506566830393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8670812027273632828.post-63133364944687145092014-07-25T17:44:59.412-07:002014-07-25T17:44:59.412-07:00Such a sad story. Ruth Ellis and her boyfriend of the time (I don't remember what my Dad called him, or even if he named him) hired a boat, and my Dad. Dad's job was to do portrait sketches. He said it was the best job ever. No one seemed interested in what he was doing, and there was all the gin he could drink.<br />I don't know what happened to the sketches. Presumably they're lost, or possibly destroyed. Certainly, they weren't among his things when we went through them after he died.Francis Pottshttp://www.francispotts.comnoreply@blogger.com
